Theatermachine enjoyed working on the lighting design of the exhibition DIOR – A New Look for Kunstmuseum The Hague. This exhibition was on view from September 2024 to March 2025.
“The ideas of founder/couturier Christian Dior are still alive and well,” said fashion curator Madelief Hohé. “At the Art Museum, his designs enter into a dialogue with those of Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s current and first female Creative Director.”
Art director Maarten Spruyt ‘s design was different for each room. Each room had a special atmosphere and décor. Because of all the different scenes Maarten created in the rooms, we were able to work with different color temperatures for each room with a theatrical accent here and there. The visitor takes a journey from room to room through Dior’s past and present.
Fashion and jewelry
Not only Dior’s fashion was on display. A special double display case was also developed for this exhibition to showcase the many jewelry pieces.
