On september 21st the performance ‘MUZE’ by anouk van dijk dc opened in the Brakke Grond in Amsterdam. In this dance performance Anouk van Dijk investigates the source of inspiration and the instrument for the artist. Impalpably depicted in a painting or intangibly represented in music; the epitome of desire.
Together with Anouk van Dijk, Floriaan Ganzevoort developed the staging and made the lighting design for the performance.
Nina Wollny, Philipp Fricke and Yichun Liu are three of the dancers who have made a major contribution to Anouk van Dijk’s work in recent years. They are outstanding dancers with remarkable personalities. And with their own idiosyncrasies and limitations. People with character.
In Muze, Nina Wollny, Philipp Fricke and Yichun Liu find themselves in the company of composer / musician Marcel Wierckx. In an unconstrained setting, the three dancers come alive, reveal themselves and measure up to one another, to the music and to the choreography. Muze shows three people just as they are, at the height of their ability; powerful and vulnerable in their beauty. Inspired and inspiring.
